Outpatient chemotherapy / infusion services are available through
our day stay chemotherapy/infusion room staffed by chemotherapy
certified oncology registered nurses. Ask your physician about
receiving your administration of chemotherapy, injections, IV infusions,
port-a-cath and central line care, blood transfusions, iron infusions
and wound care treatments here at Leon Hess Cancer Center at the
Monmouth Medical Center.
Patient-focused day stay unit provides a comfortable, private
setting for outpatient chemotherapy and various procedures as ordered
by the physician. Laboratory tests and other services are brought
to the patients as they rest in comfortable recliners with their
own television sets. CBC tests are performed on site and the results
are available within minutes.
The following services are also provided in the chemotherapy/IV
Infusion unit for non-oncology and oncology patients:
- Blood and platelet transfusions
- IV hydration
- Iron infusions
- Colony stimulating factors (Neupogen, Procrit, Neumega)
- Lab services
- Blood draws
- Central line maintenance
- Bone Marrow biopsy
