In earning global attention for its clinical application
and research of breakthrough methods of radiation therapy, Monmouth’s
Institute for Advanced Radiation Oncology is actively involved
in numerous research studies — primarily as an affiliate
of the Philadelphia-based Fox Chase Cancer Center for Radiation
Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and in spearheading its own clinical
research initiatives. For a complete list of active clinical trials
being conducted at Monmouth Medical Center, click

These national clinical trials are investigating a full spectrum
of radiation therapies, as well as identifying ways to reduce the
side effects of treatment. In 2004, Monmouth Medical Center joined
a select group of six major academic institutions, including The
University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, in
a national clinical trial that delves into reducing two serious
complications experienced by head
and neck cancer patients during radiation treatment.
